EXE file extension not working in windows

This could be because some virus has corrupted registry entry. If this is the case then follow the steps give below to resolve this issue.

  • Go to run
  • Type regedit

  • Click open to open Registry Editor

  • Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT => exefile => shell => open => command

""

  • Now double click on (Default) which is in right panel
  • If the value is other then “%1” %* then change the value data to “%1” %*

""

  • That's All now all of your exe files should work
